For the past fourteen years, every time I’ve gone to Easton Towncenter, I’ve wanted to stay at the Hilton hotel.
If you’re not from Columbus, just look at this picture!
One weekend this past October I had Sunday off (my first Sunday off in more than a year!), so my husband and I decided to make the most of this rare two-day weekend and booked the hotel.
A staycation in your own town is great because you don’t have to waste time traveling to your destination. We got off work Friday evening and we were at the hotel (and therefore officially on vacation) less than twenty minutes later!
Easton is especially fun because it has it all: restaurants, shopping, arcade, movie theater, etc. We ended up relaxing in the hotel most of the time, but it’s nice to have options.
The biggest requirement of a staycation with your love is absolutely no cell phones! We kept our phones on “airplane mode” the entire weekend so we could take pictures, but no text messages, phone calls or even posting to social media! It was just us two for two-and-a-half days and it was amazing!
We walked all over Easton visiting random stores and eating everything in sight!
Speaking of eating…Hilton’s restaurant is open to the public and their breakfast buffet is incredible. It’s a little pricey though. We got a free coupon from the hotel staff, so we took advantage of that on Saturday morning then ate at Cheesecake Factory on Sunday. I highly recommend Cheesecake Factory’s brunch. I didn’t even know they had brunch until that weekend, but they do and it is good!
In our room, we watched movies and played games and just relaxed together without any interruptions or stress.
Well, there was one minor interruption. On our first night in the hotel, the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night! What are the chances right?? It was 2am and we had to go all the way downstairs and stand outside until the firetrucks came. Ridiculous!!!
Still, overall, it was a pretty amazing weekend. The best part is: now, every time we go to Easton, we see that hotel and we’re reminded of our epic staycation.
