Reunited with my phone and finally home! God is so good!!! He protected us from what could have been a fatal accident.
As most of you know, after work on Wednesday night, Joe and I were involved in a multi-vehicle car accident caused by a semi-truck driver. When our car flipped, I didn’t know what to think. All I could do was cover my head and call on Jesus. I am so thankful to be alive. I am so thankful that my husband is alive (and that he walked away unscathed!). I am so thankful for the complete strangers who saw the wreck and rushed over to help us. A few guys pulled Joe out of the car and, because I couldn’t move, others calmed me down and waited with me until the paramedics arrived! Those people – whoever they are – deserve the very best in life and I hope they get it.
I am so thankful for my friends, family, church family, coworkers, and viewers who watch me on TV — all of you have poured out your love and support over the past few days and it brings tears to my eyes when I realize how much people care. Joe and I received SO many visitors, flowers, gifts, cards, phone calls, well-wishes on the air, social media posts, text messages and emails – we are overwhelmed! Thank you all so very much!
I am so thankful for the first responders and the Trauma team at Grant Hospital. I’ve never been in the hospital before and it’s certainly no vacation, but the staff really took care of me and Joe.
I’m especially thankful for Cameron Fontana for being such an incredible friend, coming to the hospital that first night while I was in surgery, letting people at work and at church know what happened, picking up my slack at work, helping us pack up and leave the hospital when it was time to go and even going to the impound lot and helping my husband, sister-in-law and brother-in-law salvage what we could from my totaled car. (OMG Cameron showed up to the hospital today playing “I’m Coming Home…” by Daughtry on his cell phone haha!) Fans of the CW Columbus who see me out and about sometimes ask if Cameron and I are friends “in real life”…ummmm…YES.
My car is done, my foot is pretty banged up and I have a long road to recovery ahead of me, but I made it. We made it. God is Faithful.
